The Ioniq 5 is based on E-GMP – Electric Global Modular Platform, under the company’s ‘Beyond Mobility’ aegis, while its interiors have been designed using several eco-friendly materials further enhancing the company’s sustainability endeavors.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be available with two battery packs of 72.6 kWh and 58 kWh. The 72.6 kWh battery offers 481 km of driving range while the smaller battery offers 385 km of driving range. Its 2WD variant gets a rear axle mounted electric motor producing 217 hp and 350 Nm torque. The AWD variant features two electric motors, each powering one axle, which helps in producing 305 hp power and 605 Nm torque.
The Ioniq 5 is expected to reach Indian chores via CKD route and is expected to be priced around Rs 35-45 lakhs (ex-showroom). Once Launched the Ioniq 5 will rival against upcoming Kia EV6, Volvo VC40 recharge and others.
